Sermones dominicales moralissimi et ad populum instruendum... Paris, [François Regnault], s.d. [ca. 1515-1520]. Small in-8, stiff vellum, title in ink on the spine (Binding of the time). VERY RARE GOTHICAL EDITION of the Sunday sermons of Nicolas de Hacqueville, doctor of theology and Franciscan preacher who lived at the end of the 13th century. The text was given by the theologians Jean Quentin and Louis Vasseur. These sermons were very popular in their time and there are many 16th century editions. Printed on two columns in small gothic characters, the title decorated with the beautiful typographical mark of François Regnault known as the elephant (see Renouard, n°940). Handwritten notes from the period on the verso of the last leaf. Ex-libris in violet ink on one endpaper: Barbet 333 a. Small light spotting on a few leaves. Title soiled.
