Missale predicatorum. S.l.n.d. [at colophon]: [Venice], Lucantonio Giunta, July 1504. Large volume in folio, brown basane blindstamped on ais, boards decorated with fillets and two large roulettes drawing a border, the central panel thus delimited decorated with a repetition, remains of clasps and ties, spine covered in 18th century sow skin with title-piece (Period binding). SUPERB ALTAR MISSAL PRINTED IN VENICE. This post-incunabula edition seems to be of great rarity: only 4 copies are listed in computerized catalogues (Worldcat, Edit 16 and KVK), of which 2 in Italy. Printed in red and black gothic type on two columns, it is embellished with ornate lettering and illustrated with 10 large and beautiful full-page woodcuts of architectural form. Missing leaves nn6, nn7 and nn8. Large restoration to the corner of the title leaf, small wormholes repaired in the bottom of the first 8 leaves, pages nn4 v° and nn5 r° soiled, repair to the corner of the penultimate leaf. Rubbing to the binding with spandrels and stock torn off.
