Biblia latina. S.l.n.d. [at colophon] : Venice, Octavianus Scotus, 1480. Large volume in-4, brown calf, cold-stamped on ais, framed with fillets drawing a central panel decorated with motifs, border drawn by large juxtaposed foliage, traces of clasps, spine painted in red with vellum pieces (Binding of the time). HC, 3080. - GW, 04245. - Goff, B-570 - Pellechet, 2307. Incunabula printed in Venice in gothic script on two columns. A rubricated copy with the initials painted in red and blue. On folio a2 and on the verso of folio a4, the INITIAL OF DEPARTURE IS PAINTED ON A GOLDEN LEAF BACKGROUND and the margins are adorned with a gilt frame with painted ornaments of various colours: the lower margin of these two pages is adorned with a HISTORICAL MEDALLION, one representing the pope (portrait half erased) and the other Adam and Eve. Engraved armorial bookplate on the upper cover. From the Furstenberg-Beaumesnil library, with ex-libris (1983, n°65). First leaf (a1), blank, not preserved. Small brown stain at foot of several leaves in quires q and s. Last leaf doubled, lower margin cut out. Traces of wetness on some leaves.
