In-folio, cold-stamped sow's skin on ais, wide border decorated with a repeated phylactery bearing the words MARIA, large panel delimited by fillets and a large juxtaposed iron depicting a dragon, the middle decorated with a latticework with small motifs (acorn and flower), chased metal angle, central brooch, chased copper clasps, spine ribbed (Germanic binding of the time). VERY RARE PRINCEPS EDITION of the sermons of John Lagenator of Dierburg, known as John of Frankfort († 1440), a German theologian and preacher of Heidelberg. This is the only incunabula edition of this text, and one of the very first books to come off the presses of Conrad Dinckmut, a printer active in Ulm between 1477 and 1496. COPY IN A WELL PRESERVED GERMAN BINDING, STRICTLY CONTEMPORARY WITH THE EDITION AND COMPLETE WITH ITS METAL PARTS. Numerous old annotations in the margins.
