Ashok Hazra (Indian, b. 1946), Untitled, acrylic on canvas, signed lower right in Bengali, framed, painting 24.5 x 25cm. Born in Midnapur, West Bengal, Hazra is an alumnus of the Delhi College of Arts, graduating in 1974, and won several prestigious awards in his career. He was also commissioned to paint an oil mural for the Museum of Natural History in New Delhi under the guidance of senior artist Prakash Karmarkar. Hazra has held numerous solo shows at Gallerie Ganesha, New Delhi and has also held solo shows in Ahmedabad, Calcutta and Jaipur. He was a part of the 8th Triennale held in New Delhi in 1994. Internationally, Hazra had a solo show at Wanganui Collegiate School, New Zealand in 2002.
