Important chased and gilded bronze HANGER depicting an allegory of Love nourishing life in the form of a young winged man sitting on a pillar. Holding in his left hand a ewer, he pours oil into a lamp placed on a column. The pomegranate revealing its seeds is a sign of life and fertility. The circular white enamelled dial with enamelled Roman numerals, signed PICNOT Père in Paris, inscribed in a terminal flanked on either side by a lyre and a column. The whole resting on a rectangular base decorated with an antique frieze of putti, birds, butterflies, swans, torches and a flowery vase. Empire period. (missing the arrow in his right hand). Height : 52 cm. 52 cm, long. 38 cm, depth : 15 cm.
