FRANCE (Anatole). The Juggler of Notre-Dame. S.l., 1925-1926. Manuscript in-8 square (about 200 x 170 mm) of 26 pages, in sheets, in a stapled silk folder and case from the beginning of the 20th century. SUPERB MANUSCRIT on vellum leather illuminated in the medieval style, decorated with 3 large and curious paintings. Text rubricated, decorated with line ends and initials of different sizes. A tale transcribed and illuminated by the painter Robert Lanz (1896-1965) for Louis Barthou, of the French Academy: the explicit indicates that he has no other replica than an identical copy transcribed and illuminated for Jacques André. The manuscript is accompanied by a small greeting card containing an ORIGINAL AQUARELLE (representation of a 13th century stained glass window of Notre-Dame de Paris) and an autograph letter from Robert Lanz to Louis Barthou, dated 2 January 1928. Attached is a business card of the illuminator, printed in color, with the address of 25 rue Myrha in Paris.
