BALZAC (Honoré de). Small miseries of the marital life. Paris, Chlendowski, s.d. [1845]. Large in-8, half fawn morocco with corners, smooth spine decorated, small blue mosaic pieces decorated with rosebush stems in bloom at the ends of the spine, gilt title, irregularly shaped burgundy morocco piece charged with a small iron with a marotte, the whole arranged on an olive branch, gilt head, untrimmed (S. David). First edition, illustrated with numerous woodcuts and drawings by Bertall. Pleasant mosaic binding by Salvador David. Some light foxing, spotting on the edges. Small scratches on the boards.
