Description

Rare small medieval cast brass box with silver and copper inlays. Resting on four zoomorphic feet, it has a locking system on the front and two hinges on the back in the form of fleurons. Engraved decoration all over the surface and partially inlaid alternates calligraphic friezes (probably formulas of blessing to the owner), mandorles with intertwined scrolls, and isolated florets.
