Andreu de Bilistein (1724-1777) was a hydrologist whose life was marked by numerous journeys: Germany, Holland, Prussia, Poland, and Russia. He met Casanova and was commercial adviser to Catherine II. He suggested to King Louis XVI the development of the city of Nancy.
