Description

Pendule.

Depicting a young Bacchus, based on a model designed by Jean-Simon Deverberie (1764-1824), lightly dressed in a garland of pampers, leaning on a caduceus, a rose held in his left hand. The movement, with its enamelled dial, rests on its spread wings. It is flanked by a basket overflowing with fruit. Oval terrace resting on four raptors' talons with feather cushions. Chased bronze and gilded with mercury. Circa 1815. Dimensions : 38 x 28 x 14 cm. Very good condition. With key and balance. Litt.
