A Paris, Chez Maradan, Libraire, 1790. 4 volumes in-8°, long-grained red morocco, triple framed with gilt filets and fine serrated roulettes adorning the boards, smooth spine decorated, gilt edges (period binding) "New revised edition, exactly corrected, and in conformity with the representation." A frontispiece portrait and twelve other engraved plates, nine of them after BOREL. EXEMPLAIRE ENRICHED with a second portrait of the author engraved by TARDIEU after RIGAUD (in two states) and an additional suite of seven figures engraved by LONGUEIL after MOREAU LE JEUNE (also in two states). Spines tarnished, with a very small loss at the head of volume I, and a few small brown spots, but a GOOD copy in an original red leather binding. From the Mortimer L. Schiff library, with bookplate.
