SOLAR GUN In brass and marble, signed "ROUSSEAU" and engraved with the latitude "46 d[egrés]". Early 19th century. Diameter : 29 cm. Oxidations, chips to the marble. The sundial was invented around 1785 by Rousseau, clockmaker of the Beaujolais gallery, in Paris. It was intended to ring the hour of noon in order to regulate the watches and clocks.
