JACqUes-éMIle rUhlMAnn (1879-1933)

Rare and exceptional "Duval" collector's cabinet in Macassar ebony and burr walnut with a cubic box opening through two doors inlaid with ivory fillets and revealing a compartmentalized interior in ash burr. It rests on two ivory elements finished with a recessed rectangular base opening with a drawer stamped with a hot iron "Ruhlmann" and bears the circular mark of workshop A Model created. Circa 1924 H: 149.5 / W: 98.5 / D: 45 cm Provenance -Varue W.Oishei Collection, most probably acquired from the Lilian Nassau Gallery, New York, in the early 1970s. -Purchased by the current owner at Christie's on November 25, 2013, lot 14.
