In-folio, in sheets, in the publisher's flap-case with the title on a printed page with a black background mounted on the first plate. Album of 7 original etchings signed by Max Ernst, Stanley William Hayter, Wifredo Lam, Matta, Joan Miró, Kurt Seligmann and Yves Tanguy. (Four copper engravings and two lithographs.) Limited edition of 70 copies signed by the publisher Robert Altmann (nº 3). First publication of the Brunidor editions founded in New York in 1947 by Robert Altmann. Subsequently, the illustrated books were made in Paris. Text by Nicolas Calas (1907-1988), poet and art critic, member of the Surrealist group. After taking refuge in New York in 1940, he managed to gather around André Breton the artists in exile, under the leadership of S.W. Hayter and Atelier 17 for the printing of the engravings.
