Re-edition of La Fontaine's Fables with illustrations by Grandville, first published in 1838. Beautiful copy prepared by Pagnant, enriched with proofs of the frontispiece, ornaments, false titles and the 120 plates of the first edition, re-margined to be integrated into the book. It comes from the library of the surgeon, deputy of the 6th district of Paris and bibliophile Armand Desprès (1834-1896), author of the Bibliography of the books of Fables of La Fontaine (1892).
