STOBBAERTS, Marcel Room with view. S.d Watercolour, wove vellum 50 x 35 cm; signed and dedicated in the lower part. (traces of old mounting on the back). Intimate vision of a corner of a room, with escape on a landscape through the open window. Dedication "For René Verboom". By M. Stobbaerts (Brussels 1899-1979), intimate painter of views, portraits and landscapes, watercolourist and engraver, winner of the Prix de la Jeune Peinture Belge and of the Manteau gallery in 1924. René Verboom (1981-1955), Belgian poet close to many artists including Stobbaerts, to whom a deep friendship linked him from 1919-1920 (dedication).
