JAPON - Epoque EDO (1603 - 1868)
Suzuribako (writing stand) in natural wood, decorated with mother-of-pearl inlay, porcelain and lacquer of a cockatoo on its perch, on a wickerwork background forming stylized floral motifs. Interior in ro-iro lacquer with hiramaki-e decoration in gold lacquer and inlaid with ceramic and mother-of-pearl of a ladybird among lotus and magnolia. (Small cracks in the lid, mizu-ire and ink stone missing).
