Bibliography: Dirk Van Gelder, Rodophe Bresdin, monograph in three parts, Oak, The Hague, 1976, volume I, p.90, fig.94, with an error of location, private collection and not the collection of the Chicago Art Institute Our drawing is identical to the drawing reproduced in the catalogue raisonné as being in the Chicago Art Institute. After verification the drawing is not in this museum. On the other hand, the precedent which is preparatory to this drawing is at the Chicago Art Institute. We think that there was confusion in the provenance between the drawings.
