Blood Safety Allegory, severed panels. 18 x 21.5 cm Partial reproduction of the engraving of the painting painted by Simon Vouet for Anne of Austria at the Château de Saint-Germain-en-Laye, in the years 1637-1638. The work belongs to a set of four paintings on the theme of the cardinal virtues, now in the Château de Versailles, engraved by Michel Dorigny (see the catalogue of the Vouet exhibition, Paris, Galeries Nationales du Grand Palais, 1990-1991, No. 44, reproduced).
