Rolex - Big Bubble Back - An extremely rare vintage wristwatch - CHRONOMETER with centre seconds AND auxiliary seconds at "6" Movm. No. 54854 N92426, Ref. 5050, Cal. Hunter, Case No. 643856, Dimensions 32 mm, circa 1948, Origin Schweiz Case: Steel, screw back with marking 5050, screwed "Rolex Oyster Plus" winding crown with Brevet marking, very beautiful riveted bracelet with springs, straight endlinks, clasp dated 2/51, bracelet length 140 mm, total length 175 mm. Dial: Patinated, silver-plated dial, corroded Indexes. Movm.: Automatic. The Rolex Bubble Back is one of the more unusual Rolex models; it takes its name from the large case back that protects the tall rotorwind movement. The first Bubble Back was launched in 1933 and production continued for about 20 years; the model was largely responsible for making Rolex a brand that was known for reliable watches – the relatively high number of Bubble Backs in perfect working order that are still around today attest to it. The most popular versions of the Bubble Back are Steelium (in stainless steel), Rolesor (gold and steel) and Gold (9 K, 14 K, 18 K pink or yellow gold). The names Steelium and Rolesor were created and patented by Rolex. Changes in the case were for example smooth bezels or those with an engine-turned pattern or bezels with concealed lugs. The dials also offered some variations: silvered, black, pink or white, two-coloured 24 hour dials in a military design or the "California Dials" with Roman and Arabic numerals. This timepiece features a particularly rare combination of a central with a small second. We know of only one other reference 5050 with this combination! Case: very good, slightly worn. Dial: good, oxydized. Movm.: very good, capable of running, cleaning recommended.

Rolex - Oyster Perpetual - An attractive vintage Geneva wristwatch Movm. No. 596209, Ref. 6567, Cal. 1030, Case No. 193711, Dimensions 34 mm, circa 1956, Weight 97 g, Origin Schweiz, Original box Case: 18 K gold, reeded bezel, screw back with marking 6567, screwed "Twinlock" winding crown, extremely long 14 K gold Milanaise bracelet, 14 K gold BIG Logo folding clasp dated 4/56 or 4/58 in exceptionally good condition, bracelet length 155 mm, total length 200 mm. Dial: Two-tone silvered, applied indexes. Movm.: Automatic. This watch has a great charisma! It impresses with its slightly patinated, honey-coloured OCC dial (Officially Certified Chronometer) and the lance-shaped gold hands without luminous material. The case and bezel have a few signs of wear due to age, but are in beautiful condition. The movement, calibre 1030, is clean and has a blue hairspring. The extremely long Milanaise bracelet in 14 K gold with a Big Logo clasp from the late 1950s is in exceptional condition. References 6564 and 6567 are identical except for the bezel. Case and back were interchangeable. In fact, the Rolex reference 6564 (sometimes also known as the "Oyster Perpetual without date) was originally inspired by the Rolex Explorer model but later evolved in to a much more elegant watch. Rolex reference 6564 was produced for about 30 years and established itself all over the world as an alternative to the Rolex Datejust. Calibre 1030 was produced between 1950 and 1957 and was also used in later models. Case: very good, slightly worn. Dial: very good, slightly oxydized. Movm.: very good, capable of running, cleaning recommended.

Rolex - Datejust Ovettone Lefty - (*) A very rare vintage wristwatch for left-handers with red date disc Movm. No. 61344 / HF 35679, Ref. 6105, Case No. 769839, Dimensions 36 mm, circa 1952, Origin Schweiz Case: 18 K gold, screw back with marking 6105, fluted bezel, original, very well preserved "Rolex Super Oyster" winding crown, Rolex lizard leather strap (aftermarket). Dial: Silvered "pie-pan" dial, sunburst decoration, applied dart indexes with luminous dots (missing), luminous alpha hands. Movm.: Automatic. The watch was converted for a left-handed wearer, which is not unusual, as the executed conversion is possible without difficulty. On an ex-factory left-handed model case and reference number would also be reversed accordingly. Dial and hands are in excellent original condition, as is the case, although it has been polished. The hunter calibre is very well preserved with a blue hairspring. Reference 6105 is not only one of the rarest of the vintage Rolex models but also one of the most wearable and striking designs - thanks to its generous proportions. It is one of the first DATEJUSTS and the large version of the Bubble Back, the Ovettone (large bubble), as the collectors like to call it. This rare gold example with left-hand winding crown features a beautiful silvered dial with red numerals on the date disc – a marvellous timepiece for a discerning collector or for a lover of fine vintage watches. Case: very good. Dial: very good. Movm.: very good, capable of running, cleaning recommended.

Rolex - Milgauss - An attractive Geneva wristwatch anti-magnetic to 1000 Gauss, in near mint condition Movm. The watch was bought in 2008 from Toussaint in Bonn and has hardly been worn since. Telecommunications, aviation and aerospace industries, medical imaging, research facilities – to name but a few of the many sectors where scientists, engineers and technicians are exposed to strong magnetic fields on a regular basis. The Oyster Perpetual Milgauss has been purpose-built for these environments. Its name is a combination of "mil" (a thousand), and "gauss", (the unit of magnetic flux density, named after the German mathematician and physicist Carl Friedrich Gauss), and the wristwatch is resistant to a magnetic flux density of 1,000 gauss or tesla. Rolex uses its own parachrome spring and an escapement wheel made of a new paramagnetic material in the Milgauss. Ferromagnetic alloys provide the magnetic shielding protecting the movement. The original Milgauss was mostly sold for its unusual design – not many people needed a watch with all those functions the Milgauss provided. Thus the watch was never a big seller and Rolex discontinued the production in 1986. However, in 2007 Rolex relaunched the Milgauss with an outstanding design in three different styles: stainless steel with a white dial, stainless steel with a black dial and stainless steel with black dial and green glass. Since its comeback the Rolex Milgauss has come to be an extremely popular luxury timekeeper. Case: very good. Dial: as new. Movm.: as new, capable of running, cleaning recommended.

Rolex - Datejust Thunderbird - A rare and super attractive vintage wristwatch with date, "linen dial" and bidirectional rotating "Thunderbird" gold bezel, so called "Turn-O-Graph" or "Thunderbird" Movm. No. D506825, Ref. 1625, Cal. 1570, Case No. 3505114, Dimensions 36 mm, circa 1972, Weight 121 g, Origin Schweiz Case: 18 K gold, screw back with marking 1625, screwed "Twinlock" winding crown, 18 K gold "Jubilee" bracelet with boxy clasp, bracelet length 160 mm, total length 195 mm. Dial: Silvered "pie-pan"-dial with linen structure, very nicely patinated luminous dots and luminous hands. Movm.: Automatic. This Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust Thunderbird reference 1625 is in excellent condition. The case remains unpolished with all numerals and stamps perfectly legible. The bezel with insert is very good and the "pie pan" dial with linen pattern and luminous hands is perfect. The movement starts up immediately. The very long 18 K Jubilee bracelet is hardly stretched and the box clasp is immaculate – a magnificent timepiece. The United States Air Force Thunderbirds are the air demonstration squadron of the United States Air Force. In the 1950s and 1960s the pilots flew jets such as the F-84G Thunderjet, the F-84F Thunderstreak or the legendary F-100C Super Sabre. These planes have of course long since been replaced with the modern F-16 Fighting Falcon, which is the aircraft the team uses today. There is little documentation on how the Thunderbirds came to be connected with Rolex watches, however, we know that there must have been some kind of a formal agreement - Rolex created special dials for the fighter pilots and the Thunderbird name as well as photographs of the jets were used in Rolex advertising; consequently the Turn-O-Graph models equipped with a bezel that turns in both directions came to be nicknamed "Thunderbird". Case: very good, worn. Dial: very good. Movm.: very good, capable of running, cleaning recommended.
