Almanach - BOUTET (Henri). Calendrier parisien pour 1886 [puis] Almanach[s] pour 1887 [à 1893 et 1895]. Paris, Librairie Conquet puis chez tous les libraires, 1886-1895. 9 vol. in-16 (12.7 x 9 cm for the first vol. then 10.8 x 8 cm), paperback, illustrated covers (the first in blue satin), 7 slipcases (6 decorated). Reunion of 9 of the 10 almanacs illustrated by Henri Boutet between 1886 and 1895 (only the ninth year, 1894, is missing). First published under the title "Calendrier parisien" for the Conquet bookshop in 1886, these "elegant, graceful, very feminine little almanacs bear witness to a very real search for art" (Grand-Carteret). The first volumes were illustrated with a dozen drypoints, mainly of Parisian women, the artist's favorite subject. From 1890 onwards, techniques varied, and full-page compositions were accompanied by black or colored vignettes in the text. Printed bookplate of Louis Becker for 1889 and 1890. Edges of slipcase for 1892 faded and rubbed, boards of 1893 volume faded, some minor foxing and discharges of illustrations in places, otherwise fine. (Vicaire, I, col. 911-913; Grand-Carteret, no. 3166).
