Graffman besuchte 1830 Schottland, wo er auch mit Walter Scott auf Burg Abbotsford zusammentraf. Die schönen Tafeln zeigen zahlreiche Burgen und bukolische Szenerien, u.a. Edinburgh Castle, Stirling Castle, Abbotsford, Dundarow Castle, Dunsstaffanedge Castle, aber auch schöne Landschaftsbilder, u.a. Ben Lomond, Blick auf Perthshire, Trossachs Pass sowie die obligatorische Schäferszene (Inverary). Das Subskribentenverzeichnis listet 449 Exemplare davon 11 Exemplare für das schwedische Königshaus. - Bll. am Innenfalz anmontiert. Titelbl. mit kl. Fleckchen. Etwas stockfleckig, Motive kaum betroffen. Schönes breitrandiges Exemplar des seltenen Werks. Scotland - With lithographed title with rich calligraphic decoration and 24 chalk lithographic plates. Red cont. half leather on 5 raised bands with gilt title and rich floral gilt decoration (somewhat rubbed and bumped). - Impressive work of views of Scotland with extremely atmospheric depictions. Graffman visited Scotland in 1830, where he also met Walter Scott at Abbotsford Castle. The beautiful plates show numerous castles and bucolic sceneries, among others Edinburgh Castle, Stirling Castle, Abbotsford, Dundarow Castle, Dunsstaffanedge Castle, but also beautiful landscapes, among others Ben Lomond, view of Perthshire, Trossachs Pass as well as the obligatory shepherd scene (Inverary). The list of subscribers lists 449 copies of which 11 copies for the Swedish royal family. - Fols. mounted at inner margin. Title page with small spots. Some foxing, motifs hardly affected.
