Affiche Ancienne Originales Vintage-Getränke-Werbeplakat für Smirnoff, die bekannte, in Moskau gegründete Wodka-Marke. Smirnoff verwendet hier einen humorvollen Werbeslogan - "Warum hat er so lange gewartet, um Smirnoff zu entdecken? Das Bild zeigt eine Frau, die eine Wassermelone aufschneidet, und einen Mann, der sie isst. Diese originalen alten Smirnoff-Werbeplakate sind Teil einer Kampagne der Londoner Agentur Young and Rubican aus den 1970er Jahren, die den Wodka als eine Möglichkeit anpries, Glamour und Aufregung zu erlangen und dem Alltag zu entfliehen. (Um die riskanten Anspielungen der Kampagne zu unterstreichen, bemerkt Avocado Sweet: Ersetzen Sie Smirnoff durch das Wort Heroin und es macht immer noch Sinn.) Die Werbekampagne erwies sich als großer Erfolg für das Unternehmen und führte dazu, dass der Wodka so schick wurde, dass er den Gin an Beliebtheit überholte und sich der Umsatz von Smirnoff verdreifachte. 1976 wurde die Kampagne eingestellt, nachdem die Regierung und die Advertising Standards Authorities 1975 die Vorschriften für Alkoholwerbung verschärft hatten.
