A Belgian Genhart system turret rifle octagonal barrel with bright, rifled bore. Cal. 9mm. On top dovetailed front sight and foldable rear sight. Top-mounted horizontal turret holding ten rounds, fired by amorces. The lid of the turret fully engraved with tendrils and mascarons, the chambers numbered with gold-inlaid numerals. A lever on the left side cocks the hammer. Half-stock with iron furniture, no finish, a bit bumped and with signs of wear. Length 96 cm. Heinrich Genhart, Liège, had his turret gun design for pistols and rifles patented in the 1850s in Belgium and the USA. Allan Alcorn: Atari Cosmos Prototyp Aus der Sammlung des Pong-Schöpfers Allan Alcorn - ein extrem seltener Prototyp um 1980, ein Entwurf des Atari Cosmos, eines unveröffentlichten elektronischen Tischspielsystems mit holografischen Kassetten, die auf einem LED-Display angezeigt werden sollten. Das System sollte über neun eingebaute Spiele verfügen - Asteroids, Basketball, Dodge 'Em, Football, Outlaw, Road Runner, Sea Battle, Space Invaders und Superman -, die durch eine kostengünstige Kassette aktiviert werden sollten, die das holografische Bild und eine Kerbe enthielt, anhand derer das System erkennen sollte, welches Spiel geladen werden musste. Das von Atari für den Cosmos entwickelte kostengünstige Holografieverfahren wurde später von der American Banknote Corporation für den Einsatz in Kreditkarten und anderen Hochsicherheitsanwendungen im Finanzbereich übernommen. Das Atari Cosmos-Projekt wurde schließlich von Ataris Präsident Ray Kassar abgebrochen, nachdem das Produkt angekündigt, aber noch vor seiner Veröffentlichung eingestellt worden war, so dass Cosmos-Hardware äußerst selten ist. Das Gerät misst etwa 8″ x 13″ x 6″ und weist die Standardgrafik "Third Dimension" auf, darunter die Aufschrift "Atari Cosmos". Es verfügt über eine leuchtend rote, runde Taste mit der Aufschrift "Fire", drei schwarze, quadratische Tasten für "Start", "Expert" und "2 Player" und einen zentralen Satz von vier Richtungspfeiltasten. Das 7 x 6 große Gitter aus roten LEDs auf der Rückseite des Geräts ist intakt, ebenso wie die beiden nicht reflektierenden Glühbirnen, die die holoptischen Szenen "A" und "B" beleuchten. Die Logikplatine ist nicht vorhanden, so dass das Gerät nicht funktionsfähig ist.
