A small Balkan Turkish silver-mounted yatagan, 19th century Older, single-edged blade with shallow fullers on both sides. A smith's mark and the date "1123" (= 1711) engraved on the reverse. Silver grip ferrule and grip finely chased and chiselled with decorative tendrils. Wooden scabbard with old textile cover, silver braid overlay along the seam. Delicately hammered silver fittings. A small suspension loop on the side of the locket. Length 43 cm. Condition: II +
