A Roman bust of a woman in black glass, 2nd century A.D. Superlative sculpted bust of a woman with a naked torso, made of black glass. The underside with an iron pin to attach it to the surface. The head facing slightly to the top left. Her hair parted in the centre, the long top and sides braided into a ribbon and tied together at the back of the head in a knot. The features finely delineated. Slightly corroded on the surface. Height including iron pin 9.6 cm. Provenance: From a private Munich collection. Inherited from the consignor's late father, who acquired it in the art trade during the 1970s or 80s. Condition: II +
