Im letzten Drittel des Werkes findet sich ein umfangreicher Beitrag des Astronomen John Picard über die Vermessung der Erde der von zahlreichen Tafeln ergänzt wird. - Buchblock angebrochen. Die Arbeit besteht aus 10 s/w Abb. nach Photographien und 10 gegenübergestellten Textblättern mit Parabeln, die Baldessari seit 1967 verfasst hatte. Die Parabeln sind hier in Englisch, Französisch, Deutsch und Italienisch wiedergegeben. - Sehr gut erhaltenes u. sauberes Exemplar. Orig. paperback (minimally browned in margins, upper right corner somewhat bumped). - First and only edition of the first artist's book in the form of a calendar with punched hole to be used as a hanging device. The work consists of 10 b/w illustrations after photographs with 10 facing text sheets containing parables that Baldessari had written since 1967. John Barrow, der an Lord Macartneys Botschaft in China teilgenommen hatte, veröffentlichte 1806 diese interessante Beschreibung der Länder, die er auf seiner Reise besuchte: Madeira, die Kanarischen Inseln, Rio de Janeiro, das Kap der Guten Hoffnung, Batavia... Darin findet sich insbesondere der wichtige Bericht einer Reise zu den Boushouanas, in dem eine noch unbekannte Region Südafrikas beschrieben wird, sowie die Beschreibung der Insel Java und die Beschreibung von Cochinchina (Südvietnam), deren erster illustrierter Bericht dies ist.
