Vereinzelte leichte Wasserflecken und punktuelle Rostflecken, vorwiegend im unteren Bereich der Darstellung, auch verso. Dort teils mit Atelierspuren und entlang der Ränder mit Klebespuren einer ehemaligen Montierung. Insgesamt gut. Nadia Werba ist eine französische Künstlerin, die zunächst ein malerisches Werk schuf. In Paris ansässig, hatte sie Kontakte zu Fernand Léger und André Lhote, die sie beeinflussten. Werba drückt sich in ihrer Malerei in Abstraktion aus, jene Bildsprache, die sich in Europa nach dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkrieges als neue Haltung und Ästhetik entwickelte. In den 1960er Jahren widmete sich Werba vermehrt dem Film und schuf hier ein umfassendes Oeuvre. Die Qualität ihrer Gemälde und Arbeiten auf Papier aus dem Frühwerk der 1950er Jahre, aus dem auch unser Werk stammt, zeigt eine klare und selbstbewusste, offene Bearbeitung des Bildgrundes, austariert zwischen der abstrakten Form und dem bewusst leeren Bildraum. - Nadia Werba is a French artist who initially created a painterly oeuvre. Based in Paris, she had contact to Fernand Léger and André Lhote who influenced her. Werba expressed herself in her painting in abstraction, the pictorial language that developed as a new attitude and aesthetic in Europe after the end of the Second World War. In the 1960s Werba increasingly devoted herself to film and created a comprehensive oeuvre. The quality of her paintings and works on paper from the early 1950s, from which our work originates, shows a clear and self-confident, open treatment of the pictorial ground, balanced between the abstract form and the deliberately empty pictorial space. Acrylic on wove paper. Signed and dated. Spot-mounted to mat and framed in model frame. - Acrylic colour slightly greased due to technique and age. Isolated light water stains and brown stains, predominantly in the lower depiction area, also on the verso. There partly with studio traces and along the margins with traces of glue from a former mounting. Good overall. Filigree work with gestural-abstract expression, the acrylic paint very glossy. -
