Punktuell auf Unterlage montiert, im Passepartout freigestellt und unter Glas gerahmt. - In den oberen sowie der unteren rechten Ecke mit kleinen Einstichlöchern als Spur einer ehemaligen Montierung. Verso mit punktuellen Klebespuen der Montierung. Unter UV Fixierung der Zeichnung sicht- und keine Retuschen erkennbar. Insgesamt sehr gut. Feinzeichnerische, nuancierte Zeichnung, die spielerisch das Thema "Bild im Bild" behandelt. Der Pop Art Künstler Mel Ramos zeigt in unserer Arbeit seine zeichnerischen Künste und setzt ein Aktmodell in Szene. Die Physiognomie sowie Konturen arbeitet er versiert hervor, betont die plastische Dimension des weiblichen Körpers. Interessantes Detail stellt die rechte Bildhälfte dar, in der Ramos dem Betrachter Einblick auf eine Leinwand bietet, und sich in verzerrter Formensprache der weibliche, sitzende Akt zu sehen lässt. Es ist das spannende Phänomen des "Bild im Bild", das Mel Ramos hier raffiniert aufgreift und Bildebenen und Komplexität erschafft. Zu der komplexen visuellen Ebene hält Ramos die Zeichnung selbst in technisch sicherer Manier fest: Beim sitzenden Akt finden wir feine, zarte ausgeführte Schraffierungen - bei der Darstellung des sitzenden Aktes auf der Leinwand verspieltere, dynamisch ausgeführte Striche, die mit festerer, stärkerer Hand ausgeführt wurden. Für unsere Zeichnung arbeitete Mel Ramos im Stil der Pop Art, bediente sich jedoch auch Elementen der klassischen Kunstgeschichte und arbeitete mit kunsthistorischen Zitaten wie der Grisaille, also der Malerei, die ausschließlich in Weiß, Schwarz und Grau ausgeführt wurde. Im Ergebnis erscheint uns eine ausgereifte, komplexe und versierte Zeichnung des ikonischen Pop Art Vertreters. Drawing lesson. 1990. Pencil on wove paper. 57.5 x 58.2 cm. Signed and dated. Finely drawn, nuanced drawing that playfully addresses the theme of "picture within a picture". - Pop artist Mel Ramos demonstrates his drawing skills in our work and stages a nude model. He skilfully brings out the physiognomy and contours, emphasising the sculptural dimension of the female body. An interesting detail is the right-hand half of the painting, in which Ramos offers the viewer a view of a canvas and the female seated nude can be seen in a distorted formal language. It is the exciting phenomenon of the "picture within a picture" that Mel Ramos cleverly takes up here, creating layers of images and complexity. In addition to the complex visual level, Ramos captures the drawing itself in a technically confident manner: in the seated nude, we find fine, delicately executed hatching - in the depiction of the seated nude on the canvas, more playful, dynamic strokes executed with a firmer, stronger hand. For our drawing, Mel Ramos worked in the style of Pop Art, but also drew on elements of classical art history and worked with art-historical quotations such as grisaille, i.e. painting executed exclusively in white, black and grey. The result is a mature, complex and skilful drawing by the iconic Pop Art representative.
