Der Dresdener Maler und Graphiker Otto Schubert genoss seine künstlerische Ausbildung zunächst an der Dresdner Kunstgewerbeschule und anschließend an der örtlichen Kunstakademie. Zusammen mit u.a. Otto Dix und Conrad Felixmüller gründete er die Dresdner Sezession Gruppe 1919. Ein Großteil von Schuberts Werken wurde 1937 im Rahmen der Aktion "Entartete Kunst" vernichtet, seine Druckstöcke und Platten 1945 beim Angriff auf Dresden zerstört. Nach dem Krieg war er weiter in Dresden tätig, u.a. als Mitglied im Verband Bildender Künstler der DDR. Das vorliegende Gemälde zeigt die Ehefrau des Malers. Oil on canvas. Framed. - Emotive portrait with nuanced and impasto application of colour. - The Dresden painter and graphic artist Otto Schubert initially enjoyed his artistic training at the Dresden School of Arts and Crafts and then at the local academy. Together with Otto Dix and Conrad Felixmüller, among others, he founded the Dresden Secession Group in 1919. The majority of Schubert's works were destroyed in 1937 as part of the 'Degenerate Art' campaign, and his printing blocks and plates were destroyed during the attack on Dresden in 1945. After the war, he continued to work in Dresden, including as a member of the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR. The present painting shows the painter's wife. Dieses Werk ist regelbesteuert.
