Punktuell auf Unterlage montiert, im Passepartout freigestellt und unter Glas gerahmt. - Lediglich technikbedingt und werkimmanent mit leichten Atelierspuren verso. Dort punktuell leichte Montierungsspuren und oberflächlicher Papierabrieb an den Rändern. Kohle fixiert. Insgesamt in sehr gutem Zustand. Kraftvolle, in den Schwärzen tiefe und ausdrucksstarke Zeichnung aus dem Frühwerk des Künstlers. Vgl. Fussmann 114 bzw. 126 (Varianten). - Die Außeinandersetzung mit Spiegeln spielt in Klaus Fussmanns Oeuvre eine bedeutende und wiederkehrende Rolle. Erstmals im Jahr 1977, in dem auch unsere Arbeit entstanden ist, zeigte der Künstler Spiegel in Zusammenspiel mit weiblichen Akten. Er differenzierte die Positionen der liegenden Körper in der unteren Bildhälfte vor einer Spiegelfläche, die die obere Bildhälfte einnimmt, nur in Details - der schlichte Bildaufbau blieb in grundsätzen stets bestehen - sei es in Kohlezeichnungen, Gemälden oder Druckgraphiken. Das Bildthema zieht sich bis 1984 wie ein roter Faden durch des Künstlers Werk, in der Folgezeit drücken Spiegel eine Faszination und Funktion aus, die im Wesentlichen zur Komplexität der Werke beitragen: Anordnungen von Körpern und Spiegelprojektionen entsprechen weder den korrekten Perspektiven und Gesetzen der Optik, sie folgen vielmehr Fussmanns Vorstellung und Idee einer Projektion eines Körpers auf die Ebene des Spiegels. Einflüsse, die dessen Faszination erklären, können in dem philosophischen und psychologischen Konstrukt des Unbewussten liegen, das durch den Spiegel offenbar wird. Es ergeben sich komplexe Ebenen zwischen Illusion, Halluzination und Wirklichkeit, ob des Aktes und des Spiegelbildes, die Fussmann auf der Bildebene miteinander verwebt. Charcoal on wove paper. Powerful, deep and expressive drawing in the blacks from the artist's early work.- The exploration of mirrors plays an important and recurring role in Klaus Fussmann's oeuvre. For the first time in 1977, the year in which our work was created, the artist showed mirrors in combination with female nudes. He only differentiated the positions of the reclining bodies in the lower half of the picture in front of a mirrored surface that takes up the upper half of the picture in details - the simple picture structure always remained the same in principle - whether in charcoal drawings, paintings or prints. The pictorial theme runs like a common thread through the artist's work until 1984; in the period that followed, mirrors expressed a fascination and function that essentially contributed to the complexity of the works: arrangements of bodies and mirror projections do not correspond to the correct perspectives and laws of optics, but rather follow Fussmann's conception and idea of a projection of a body onto the plane of the mirror. Influences that explain his fascination may lie in the philosophical and psychological construct of the unconscious that is revealed through the mirror. Complex levels arise between illusion, hallucination and reality, whether of the act and the mirror image, which Fussmann interweaves on the pictorial level.
