A wheellock carbine, Cuirasseer Regiment Kaunitz-Rietberg, Suhl, ca. 1670 Barrel octagonal to round, length 64.3 cm, cal. 16 mm, marked with a heart and "SVL" / hen proof marks. Iron sights. External wheel with simple guidance, rounded lock plate, on the inside marked "SF" and a serpent on a T-shaped staff. Pan with sliding cover. Angled cock. Spring-loaded trigger. Iron furniture, half butt plate, one ramrod thimble. Walnut stock marked "82" in Roman numerals. Wooden ramrod with iron tip. Total length 99.5 cm. Provenance: Gallery Fischer, Luzern, CH, auctioned on Sept. 3, 1935, lot No. 123 ("The Kaunitz Armory"), purchased by the Solothurn Armory, sold in 1942 to a private collector. Subsequently sold in Auction 51 of Hermann Historica in 2006, lot Nr. 740. With serial number "82" this is the wheellock carbine with the highest number known of this series.
