A pair of large African bracelets (cuff bracelets) of The Gurunsi people, an unusual pair of Igbo Man hand guards or cuff bracelets from south-central and south-eastern Nigeria, probably 19th century, the bracelets are decorated with figures of warriors, each of the human figures holding a ceremonial staff known as aloe, and whatever Apparently a trumpet made from an elephant's needle on the shoulder. Wentholt describes in his book (from: 2017, p. 132) those Igbo cuff bracelets, which are decorated with human or anthropomorphic figures, as 'exceptional cases'. The figures and the queens or their attributes imply their high status and therefore 'clearly indicate the rank in society of the wearer of the bracelet. One has a crack at the base, width: 11 cm, height: 17.5 cm.
