Según WorldCat, existe una edición mexicana publicada el mismo año. A diferencia de la edición bogotana, la versión mexicana deriva de la traducción al castellano realizada en París en 1852. Este hecho resalta la diversidad de interpretaciones y ediciones que ha tenido la obra en el mundo hispanohablante. La edición sudamericana, por tanto, no solo es una rareza por su antigüedad, sino también por su singularidad en el contexto de las traducciones y publicaciones de esta célebre novela. The first South American edition of this famous novel was published a year after the original release. According to WorldCat, there is a Mexican edition published the same year. Unlike the Bogotá edition, the Mexican version is derived from the Spanish translation published in Paris in 1952. This highlights the diversity of interpretations and editions the work has undergone in the Spanish-speaking world. Therefore, the South American edition is a rarity not only because of its age but also for its uniqueness in the context of the novel's translations and publications.
