"THE CHRONICLES OF THE CRUSADES".- The original of which is kept in Vienna, in the Austrian National Library. Valencia: Club Bibliófilo Versol, 2008. 26.5 x 50 cm., guaflex ed. The manuscript, made in the workshop of David Aubert around 1455 by order of the Duke of Burgundy, is written in lowercase Burgundian bastard letters, and decorated with gold initials, borders and miniatures describing battles and city sieges. Its strange elongated and landscape format explains its own reason for being, because apart from a chronicle, it is a genealogy. The Abridged Chronicles of the Crusades, or summarized, recount the events of the knights who during the First Crusade, at the end of the 11th century, conquered Jerusalem and many other lands taken from the Turks.
