Empuñadura de cuerno oscuro decorada con bandas de cordón de plata y monturas de hierro en el lomo. Vaina de madera forrada de cuero. Longitud 32 cm. Die Porträts waren wohl ursprünglich alle in zweiteilige Klapprahmen eingefasst. Lediglich solcher des Ehepaares sowie der des Kindes sind noch intakt und vollständig vorhanden. Diese je aufwändig verziert mit reicher Blindprägung auf Deckeln. - In den Rändern oxidiert. Teils fleckig. Collection of six early daguerrotypes with portraits. Around 1860. Each decoratively framed under glass (unopened), some with decorative borders. - Includes a portrait of a married couple, on two plates and framed as a diptych. Also three male portraits and that of a young child. The portraits were probably all originally framed in two-part hinged frames. Only those of the couple and the child are still intact and complete. These each elaborately decorated with rich blind embossing on covers. - Oxidized in the margins. Partly spotted.

Teils prachtvoll gekleidet in landestypischer Tracht und traditioneller Manier inszeniert, mit drapierten Werkzeugen und weiteren Utensilien in alltäglicher Szene, eine junge Frau getragen von zwei Kulis, bis hin zum Porträt eines javanesischen Landwirtes mit von Ochsen gezogenen Wagen. - Das Photostudio Woodbury and Page wurde 1857 von den beiden Engändern Walter Bentley Woodbury und James Page in Batavia (heute Jakarta) gegründet. Einige Zeit später stiegen auch die beiden jüngeren Brüder Henry James und Albert Woodbury in das Geschäft ein. Neben dem Schaffen von klassischen Studioporträts reisten Woodbury und Page auch durch Niederländisch-Ostindien photographierten eine Reihe an Motiven, darunter neben königlichen Persönlichkeiten auch Menschen des einfachen Volkes, Genreszenen und Landschaften. - Nur vereinzelt minimal fleckig. The people portrayed are depicted in different settings. Some are splendidly dressed in traditional costume and staged in a traditional manner, with draped tools and other utensils in an everyday scene, a young woman carried by two coolies, up to a portrait of a Javanese farmer with a cart pulled by oxen. - The Photostudio Woodbury and Page was founded in 1857 by the two Englishmen Walter Bentley Woodbury and James Page in Batavia (now Jakarta). Later, the two younger brothers Henry James and Albert Woodbury also joined the business. In addition to creating classic studio portraits, Woodbury and Page also travelled through the Dutch East Indies, photographing a range of subjects, including royalty, folk, genre scenes and landscapes. - Only a few minimal stains. Boden & Söhne Sammlung von 6 Alben mit insgesamt ca. 1500 Stoffmustern. Großröhrsdorf bei Dresden, um 1900-1912. 4° u. Folio. 5 Lwd.-Bände mit goldgepr. DTitel und 1 Pp.-Band mit montiertem Etikett (Einbände mit teils größeren Defekten, angestaubt und fleckig). Überaus vielfältige Sammlung des sächsischen Traditionsunternehmens, welches um 1819 von dem Industriellen Carl Gottlob Boden (1797-1877) als Fabrik für Band- und Gurtproduktion gegründet wurde. Großröhrsdorf etablierte sich bereits im 17. Jahrhundert als Standort für die Bandweberei. Die vorliegende Sammlung enthält eine große Bandbreite an Mustern in verschiedensten Farben und Techniken, darunter zahlreiche gewebete Streifenmuster und gestickte florale Ornamente. Die Seiten der 5 Leinwand-Bände sind eingefasst in ornamental goldgeprägten Bordüren. Das Papp-Album von 1912 ist chronologisch geordnet von Januar bis Dezember und mit ausführlicheren handschriftlichen Annotationen versehen. Ein weiterer Band enthält einen montierten lithographischen Ausschnitt mit einer Illustration der Fabrik in Grossröhrsdorf und Titel "Mechanische Weberei baumwoll. & wollner figurirte Gurte, Doppelgurte & Hosenträger". Enthält zahlreiche Muster von Gurten, darunter Sattelgurte, Taillengurte, Stiefelgurte, brochierte Gurte, Blumen-Gurte, Patentgurte, etc. - Vereinzelt mit fehlenden Mustern. Albumseiten papierbedingt gebräunt und teils etwas fleckig. Die Bordüren teils mit Fehlstellen und Defekten. Vereinzelt leichter Insektenfraß, ein Band auf den Albumseiten im oberen Rand stärker betroffen mit resultierenden Fehlstellen.
