A Chinese porcelain Ming style circular box and cover, 18th century, painted in underglaze blue to the cover with a band of archaistic motifs and floral sprays to the curved sides, 10cm diameter Provenance: Previously in the collection of the former Assistant Commissioner of the Shanghai Municipal Police (1919-1928), who returned to England shortly after the Second World War, and thence by descent.
