Burrwood box, size 25.5 x 15.5 x 12 cm, containing eighteen oblong cards 21.5 x 12 cm. and a cloth bag with 90 numbered boxwood pieces. Lotto dedicated to the History of France. On the front of each card is a lithograph, colored and gummed; on each one is a bust of five famous historical figures with their name and a number, listed in chronological order; below these five figures are two famous scenes from French history from the same period. The first 75 characters correspond to the kings of France, from Pharamond to the Second Empire (the first two republican periods are represented by a Marianne head); the last 15 characters are explorers, men of war, ministers or artists; among the episodes represented, note the emphasis placed on the great discoveries: Dumont d'Urville received by a New Zealand chief, Duguay-Trouin in front of Rio de Janeiro, Christopher Columbus discovers America. A handsome set, very fresh in color and conservation.
