Large Frankish jewelry ensemble. Merovingian period, 1st half of the 7th century A.D. Bronze jewelry from a woman's grave including a pair of magnificent bow brooches with a rectangular head plate with edge buttons, diamond-shaped foot plate and rich notched decoration. The pins are missing, but remnants of the iron spiral are preserved, otherwise intact. Also included are two parts of a chain with which the brooches were connected. L of the fibulae 14.1 and 14.3 cm, L of the chains 10.8 and 15.2 cm. Also a beautiful pin with notched decoration, L 18cm. Also a pair of large strap tongues with braided band in the notch cut and a pair of small strap tongues as well as a pair of small buckles. L strap tongues 8.2cm and 4.2cm and buckles 3.2cm. 11 pieces! With detailed accompanying literature by Wolfgang Wilhelm! Bronze with dark green to dark brown patina, one fibula and the large buckles with abundant remnants of tinning. Provenance: Ex private property D.
