The Maestro, in coat, hat and scarf, very elegant as usual, and Antonio curiously observe some travellers intent on playing a sort of "curling". Puccini embarked with his family on the liner 'Savoia' on 1 June 1905 for Buenos Aires, where he arrived on the 23rd of the same month. Here he was the object of the greatest attention from the numerous Italian emigrants, and attended the staging of several of his operas. His return, after a very short stay in Montevideo, took place on 17 August on the liner 'Umbria'. Applied on decorated rigid cardboard in horizontal format (20.8x25.6 cm). Photograph by Lapucci di Lucca, Via Borghi, who probably printed the photograph in Italy. Nice shot, very sharp and unpublished. This photograph has been shot by Puccini himself with his brand new Panorama Kodak Camera Model B just released in 1899. - This item is under temporary import.
