The ovoid bead decorated with three images of a striding buddha, one heel raised while the other foot is firmly planted on the ground, the left hand lifted in Abhaya mudra, while the other arm rests naturally at his side. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. István Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe. Condition: Good condition with old wear, nicks, scratches, signs of weathering and erosion. Weight: 9 g Dimensions: 3.9 cm Phra Leela is a style of Buddha Image, representing his descent from the Tavatimsha Heaven, to which he had risen in order to preach to his mother.
