AN ORIBE GLAZED CERAMIC BOWL AND COVER AN ORIBE GLAZED CERAMIC BOWL AND COVER Japan, Edo period (1615-1868) Supported on a raised foot, rising to rounded sides and a flat rim, surmounted by a slightly domed cover with a stylized leaf finial, and covered in a beige glaze. The bowl painted in pale gray with stylized birds and trees as well as a bridge, the interior and cover with stylized blossoms and grasses. DIAMETER 20.2 cm Condition: Good condition with some wear and firing irregularities including glaze recesses and glaze cracks. Few tiny chips to the rims, some smoothened over time. With an old wood tomobako storage box.
