A rare work printed in an edition of only 75 numbered copies on Arches laid paper (no. 19), whose author, who remains unknown, refers by his pseudonym to the Greek architect Eupalinos of Megara, who also inspired Paul Valéry to write Eupalinos ou l'Architecte (1923), a pastiche of Platonic dialogue between the shadows of Socrates and Phaedrus, in which the architect's activity serves as the starting point for a philosophical meditation on creation. The work is accompanied by a second volume entitled "Dessins pour les Poèmes Subtils Eupalinos" (Drawings for Eupalinos' Subtle Poems), featuring 45 plates of fine Art Deco illustrations, unsigned, on ff. in filled illustrated cover (spotted).
