Jules Charles-Roux (1841-1918), a shipowner who headed the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique and a politician, was an ardent supporter and generous patron of Provence in the early 20th century. Copy from the first-class library of the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique (stamp). Ex-libris in red morocco pastedown to upper flyleaves. A few rubs, mainly on the spines, a small epidermis on the spine of vol. 2 and a few rubs on the edges, otherwise a good copy. (Colas, no. 600).
