Artist information, if Gertrud Fredrich: Erroneously also Gertrud Frederich, German painter, colour woodcut artist and graphic artist (1874 Lissa in Posen [Polish: Leszno] to 1963 Berlin?), studied at the Königliche Kunstschule Berlin, further training with Lovis Corinth, Käthe Kollwitz and Martin Brandenburg, socialised in the circle of the Berlin artists' association "Vereinigung der XI" and the Berlin Secession, undertook study trips to Bavaria and Italy, 1902 on Sylt, 1915-63 member and 1927 and 1933 board member of the Verein der Künstlerinnen zu Berlin, whose exhibitions she organised 1918-58, member of the Freie Vereinigung der Graphiker zu Berlin, the Reichsverband bildender Künstler Deutschlands and the Schleswig-Holsteinische Künstlergesellschaft, organised the Große Berliner Kunstausstellung, active in Berlin-Schöneberg, mentioned in Eisenach in 1921, due to the war 1943-53 in Ballenstedt am Harz, later back in Berlin, source: Vollmer, Saur "Bio-Bibliographisches Künstlerlexikon", Dressler, files of the Reichskammer der bildenden Künste Berlin, Wolff-Thomsen and "Käthe, Paula und der ganze Rest".
