Painter (1891 Hamburg - 1979 Hamburg), 1907-13 attended the Kunstgewerbeschule in Hamburg, 1914-18 worked as a war draughtsman in the Balkans, 1918-19 master student of Arthur Illes, from 1921 worked at the Bauhaus, 1924-26 stage designer at the Deutsches Theater under Max Reinhardt, 1927-30 studied at the University of Hamburg to become a commercial teacher, from 1930 teacher of painting at the Gewerbeschule in Hamburg, from 1943, together with Heinrich Stegemann, documentation of the destroyed Hamburg, from 1945 turned to non-representational painting, source: Internet.
