Artist info: German painter and graphic artist. Painter and graphic artist (1914 Cunsdorf near Reichenbach/Vogtland to 2006 Zella-Mehlis), 1928-31 apprenticeship as a decorative painter in Reichenbach, 1935-39 studied at the Weimar master school for crafts and applied arts, 1939 master's examination, 1941-45 studied at the Weimar academy and master student of Walther Klemm, then freelance in Weimar, later in Zella-Mehlis, 1962-88 leader of painting and drawing circles, member of the VBK of the GDR, received various honours, including the Art Prize of the City of Weimar in 1963 and the Art Prize of the GDR in 1971, appointed honorary citizen of Reichenbach in 2004, source: Vollmer, Eisold "Artists in the GDR" and Internet.
