Artist information: called "Schnee-Iwan", German painter, graphic artist and exl. Painter, graphic artist and exlibris artist (1889 Landeshut in Lower Silesia to 1967 Wangen in Allgäu), studied 1903-08 at the Royal School of Arts and Crafts in Breslau under Carl Ernst Morgenstern and 1910-14 at the Berlin Art Academy, member of the Reich Association of Visual Artists of Germany and the Free Association of Graphic Artists in Berlin, initially active in Krummhübel, later in Hirschberg in the Giant Mountains, after 1946 in Wangen, source: Vollmer und Dressler.
