Homann...", in the upper right corner another cartouche, depicting the area between Marburg in the north, Eger in the east, Stuttgart in the south and Münster (Mosel) in the west, above the depiction further text, partly coloured copper engraving, around 1710, map composed of two parts, differently browned and somewhat waterstained, framed behind glass in Berlin moulding, dimensions without writing approx. 55 x 95 cm. Artist's information: German engraver, publisher and Jesuit (1664 Kambach to 1724 Nuremberg), probably pupil of David Funck, founded his own publishing house "Homännisches Landkarten-Offizin" around 1702, 1715 member of the Royal Prussian Society of Sciences, Emperor Charles VI. Emperor Charles VI awarded him the title of "Imperial Geographer" and the Russian Tsar Peter the Great appointed Homann "Imperial Russian Agent", active in Vienna, Leipzig and Nuremberg, among other places, Source: Thieme-Becker and Internet.
